More about Mrs. Skowbo...

Teaching children has always seemed to be a part of who I am; whether it has been in a classroom, in my church, in girl scouts, in a swimming pool, or at my kitchen table. I've always loved being able to guide and instruct children in learning something new to become independent life-long learners.

Since 4K is a child’s first real experience of school, I want to make sure that a child has fun and feels safe to explore and discover without the worry of having to be correct or right. Through consistent routines and structure, I am able to set the children up for success. Teaching young children has allowed me to stay “young at heart” and it is such a joy when I have the opportunity to see that little “twinkle” in their eyes when they are so excited to learn about so many new things.

I feel so blessed to be able to teach here at St. Gabriel School where I am able to not only instruct children, but I am able to weave Christian values in every area of instruction. It is such a rewarding experience being able to teach in a school program that is rooted with such strong faith-based Christian values. St. Gabriel School is not only a school; it is a community and most importantly, a family.
