More about Mr. DeMers...

My passion in teaching has come from the incredible experiences that I have had throughout my life. After high school, I worked at "Good Times Day Camp" in Waukesha, WI, while coaching high school soccer, basketball, and track, and fell in love with working with children. I began my career working in the School district of Waukesha at the STEM academy. Eventually, I started the online grade school in Waukesha and was a lead teacher there for 11 years. Two years ago, my daughter Taytum began school so I took a step away from the profession but was blessed at that time to continue my learning in my travels. 

I have been blessed to referee soccer around the world and have really enjoyed travelling in my free time to many different countries and continents. I enjoy travelling with my family, National Geographic, and the World War 2 museum and to continue to learn about, and to better the world that we live in. I cherish the opportunity for students to learn from my experiences and really bring learning to life through both mine and their experiences.

In my other free time (which there is not much of), I love to read, travel, and attend sporting events with my family and serve as the president of the board of directors for the Wildlife in Need Center for last 4 years. I love to meet new people! I am so happy to be back teaching and look forward to creating amazing experiences, here at St. Gabriel!
